Next week (day/time to be determined), the DPS Department of Public Safety will help us run through our required safety drills including lockdown, lockout, inclement weather, and fire drill. It is important that we practice these at least twice a year to make sure all of our equipment is working and we are following the correct procedures. Please inform your children that this is a scheduled Seroquel tabletten PRACTICE and ask them to please listen and follow directions from their teacher.
buy Pregabalin Lyrica uk A HUGE THANK YOU!
Snow finally fell in Denver! We want to thank The Stockton, O’Bryant/Ellis, and Boberg families plus one mystery gentleman for coming out late Sunday afternoon and clearing the snow from around the building, the sidewalks, the handicap ramp, and even a pass through the gutter so our kiss and drop kids wouldn’t step into ice getting out of their cars in the morning. Monday would have been a whole lot messier without their help. Thank you! If you would like to be on the Snow Crew – there are power tools! Please email our co-PTSA president Michelle Scott at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will get you on the list to work the snow blower or drive the tractor/plow. Speaking of Kiss and Drop, we also want to thank the dedicated volunteers who brave the cold each morning to get our kids safely to the sidewalk each morning. Thank you to Greg, Marcy, Britton, Brad, Will, Tina, Brian, Julie, Michael, Aisha, Alexis, Mike, Emily, and David! Thank you to our fearless leader, Principal Burdette, for stepping in as crossing guard too! If you have saved some time because of the Kiss and Drop lane, or your walk was a little safer and you would like to give back, please feel free to sign up as a volunteer! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/409084caba723a57-park2.
*DPS SCHOOL CHOICE*
abanazar costume ideas The SchoolChoice enrollment process for the 2018-19 school year begins Feb. 1, 2018 and ends Feb. 28, 2018 at 4 p.m.
If your student is going into ECE, Kindergarten, or Sixth Grade, you will need to complete the choice process. In addition, any DPS student who is not currently enrolled at a Denver Public School, or wants to attend a school other than their automatically assigned neighborhood school, must take part in SchoolChoice.
This year the entire SchoolChoice process will be 100% ONLINE (you may use your smartphone, iPad, laptop, PC, etc. to complete your SchoolChoice application). We will offer Chromebooks here in the main office at Park Hill for those who do not have a way to complete the process at home, or who need assistance.
- Find the best school for your student with the Great Schools Enrollment Guides (available at schools), the new School Finder online tool at dpsk12.org, and by touring schools of interest.
- Apply by using the new online application at dpsk12.org between Feb. 1 and Feb. 28, 2018 at 4 p.m.
- Watch for your school placement notification in early April 2018.
The process will be easiest for families who already have an existing Parent Portal login because the new Choice system will auto-populate much of your information if you use your Parent Portal credentials to log in. Please note it is not necessary to access the new SchoolChoice application through Parent Portal, it is just as easy to access it through the main DPS website at schoolchoice.dpsk12.org (just use your Parent Portal Username and Password to log in to the new SchoolChoice system). If you do not have a Parent Portal login, do not fret. Go to schoolchoice.dpsk12.org when SchoolChoice opens starting February 1 and you will be directed to create a new account. If you are brand new to DPS, you will need your student’s proof of birth (birth certificate or passport), and proof of your address (Xcel bill, water bill, mortgage or lease).

BE PARK HILL KIND
Many of you may have noticed that your child came home with a red “Be Park Hill Kind” bracelet last Friday. Many of you may have also wondered what the purpose was behind the bracelet. Last Friday, we held our first school-wide assembly of 2018. Our 5th grade Student Council members in addition to Mr. B. and Ms. M. lead these. The message was to remind students that “it is always the right time to be kind”. We talked with our students in each grade about kindness, showing ROAR, and treating others the way you would like to be treated. We will continue to do so each day, as well as in our school-wide assemblies in the future.
The purpose of the bracelet was to remind students of this important message. Mr. B encouraged students to switch wrists with the bracelet every time they conduct a kind act towards someone, as this will be a positive and physical reminder of one’s kind actions. Maybe a student will switch his/her bracelet to the other wrist 5 times, 10 times, 20 times, etc. That was the challenge presented to students – how many kind acts can you do each day?
As parents and family members, please help us reiterate this message of being kind to one another and treating people the way you want to be treated. As our Student Council members like to say, “It is always the right time to be kind.”
