Our PTSA is sponsoring a safety related workshop on Bully-proofing Children given by Michelle Anthony Ph.D. Michelle is a developmental researcher, a DPS elementary school teacher and mother to three children. She has also co-authored several books including Little Girls Can Be Mean: Four Steps to Bully-proof Girls in the Early Grades. SPANISH CLASSES FOR PARENTS
Better Late Than Never Español with Maestra Acosta – Thursdays at 6:30 pm.
This class will be for beginners or those with a little experience who would like the opportunity to communicate more in Spanish. We will meet on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in the PHE library. We will acquire conversational language, practice work and travel-related communication, but ultimately the class will be tailored to meet the needs of our students.

PERMISSION SLIPS FOR ALL 3RD, 4TH AND 5TH GRADE PARENTS
The First Tee Golf program from City Park Golf will come teach golf skills to the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students during their PE classes. The golf unit will be from April 20 to May 7. Each student will receive three PE classes worth of golf lessons. In order to fund grants that pay for this program, the First Tee program needs permission slips from the parents. This is just to prove to their First Tee Home Office that they are working with real kids at real schools. The students’ personal data will not be shared and they will never contact the families. They have a DPS Partnership Agreement allowing them to receive this information and the information they receive is confidential. The date for the Fourth Grade music performance has changed! The new date is Wednesday, May 2. Ms. Seward and Ms. Strumor’s performance is at 5:30 pm (students need to report to classrooms at 5:15 pm). Mr. Corcoran and Ms. G’s performance is at 6:30 pm (students need to report to classrooms at 6:15 pm). We look forward to seeing you there!

DEE & STEVE CIANCO’S “Spring Cleaning” RECYCLING DAY – Saturday, April 21 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm
For a 5th year, Steve and Dee Ciancio have engaged Data Destruction to provide secure electronic recycling and on-site paper shredding for Park Hill School families and neighbors. FREE Recycling is available for desktop computers, laptop computers, monitors, keyboards and mice, cell phones, cameras, desktop printers, cables, peripherals and accessories (no tube TV’s or large appliances). Hard drives will be removed, data wiped, and shredded at Data Destruction’s facility. All materials will be recycled with environmentally sensitive methods. Donations for recycling will benefit Park Hill School PTSA. Donors will receive FREE cookies and coffee – with our compliments – on-site at the event!
FUNDRUN, MAY 4
Attention Parents! Today your student will bring home exciting information regarding Park Hill’s annual FundRun, which will take place on May 4! Help our school by encouraging donations from friends, family and neighbors so that we may reach our goal of raising $30,000! Donations will be collected by class on Friday, April 20, 27 and May 4. Your student will receive a prize for ANY donation they bring in! Don’t forget to mark your calendar and get ready to cheer on the students. The race schedule is included in your child’s FundRun packet.
PARK HILL CHICKEN CO-OP
Ever wonder who takes care of the chickens at our school? Hopefully YOU! The Park Hill Chicken Co-op is currently comprised of about seven families, and we are looking for new members. Membership requires caring for our five chickens one day a week for only a few months out of the year. It’s a bonding and educational experience for a family, teaching kids the importance of sustainability and self-sufficient living in an urban environment. It may sound like it is a bit away, but summer camp will be here before we know it. 70 days until Summer Academy at Discovery Link kicks off and our campers start an awesome summer full of adventure, friendships, and FUN!
