GREATER PARK HILL FOOD BANK

This holiday season the Greater Park Hill Food Bank will be providing meals to hundreds of families, including many from our own school community.

In our ongoing commitment to support the Greater Park Hill Foodbank, and to help them prepare for the holidays, we will be collecting the following items:

  • Canned meats – tuna, spam, Vienna sausages, chunk chicken, salmon, etc.
  • Canned fruits – peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, etc.
  • Kitchen utensils – spatulas, ladles, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and can openers

Please drop your donations in the boxes provided outside the office or in the red wagon located in the hallway outside the cafeteria. Thank you in advance for your donations!

PARK HILL 5TH GRADE PARENTS
5th Grade Middle School Information Night, Tuesday December 4, 2018
The Choice process is quickly approaching, and I know that you have many questions regarding middle school options. As your principal, one of my responsibilities is to provide you with as much information as possible to guide you in selecting the right middle school for your child.

Please join me on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, from 5:15 pm – 6:30 pm to hear an overview of the Choice process and to meet representatives from neighboring middle schools.  The night will begin in the auditorium with a review of information and timelines regarding the Choice process.  Following that, you will have the opportunity to visit with representatives from local middle schools, ask questions, and learn more about your options.

Please call the main office @ 720-424-4910 to RSVP if you plan to attend.

PARENT UNIVERSITY: MINDFULNESS WORKSHOP

At last month’s Coffee with Ken our amazing school psychologist, Andrea Kendall, introduced parents to the mindfulness sessions she does with students. Several parents indicated they’d like to have a mindfulness workshop. You asked and we listened. In lieu of a PTSA meeting this month we are holding a Parent University: Mindfulness Workshop.

Sort of dreading the holidays? This “most wonderful time of the year” is not always so magical for everyone. The lack of routine and stress of travel, family interactions and other holiday events can make us feel unsettled and anxious. Come give yourself the gift of tools to get through the holidays with more ease and calm. Liz Rutledge of SustainableThree.com will provide Mindfulness guidance, tools and materials to help you through it.

Thursday, December 13 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm in the school Library

PTSA will provide childcare. Please RSVP for the workshop at:

PLEASE REFER TO THE COMMUNITY BOARD (ACROSS THE HALL FROM THE SCHOOL OFFICE), TO GET THE MOST UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION REGARDING EVENTS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, CAMPS / ENRICHMENTS FOR STUDENTS, COMMUNITY MEETINGS, ETC.
