Happy Friday Park Hill Families,

Once again thank you for the unwavering support from our community. We could not have made it through the past 2 weeks without your love.

As you probably know our auction is coming up in the next few weeks. Please look out for an upcoming email from me about the importance of the auction and how you can get involved. Enjoy the extended weekend!

- Ken Burdette, Principal

Reminder: No school next Monday and Tuesday

As a reminder, there will be no school on February 20 and 21. Please enjoy the extended break and we will see students back on Wednesday, February 22.

Round 1 of School Choice is extended through February 21

The DPS SchoolChoice Round 1 deadline has been extended to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21. If families are having trouble submitting an application, they are advised to contact the Office of Choice and Enrollment Services by calling 720-423-3493 (hotline operating hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday) or emailing SchoolChoice@dpsk12.org. Please call us in the front office if you have any other questions.

UPK Applications extended until February 24

Families applying for ECE programs through the State’s Universal Pre-K website, were notified that the State will reopen the application website today to allow families to reevaluate their choices. The deadline for families to edit applications and for new families to apply in the first round of applications has been extended to February 24th. According to CDEC, families will be notified of matches and the next steps to complete enrollment around March 30th .

Mark Your Calendar: School Beautification on Earth Day

Come celebrate Earth Day by sprucing up our school yard for spring! Bring your shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows to help plant new trees, spread mulch, pull weeds, and plant new shrubs around the back playground on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22. This project is funded by your donations to the direct giving campaign in the fall. A sign up genius link for volunteers will be available soon.

Parking Challenges

Thanks to everyone for working around all the construction and weather related challenges we have dealt with since the Denver Water related street work started. We know it has increased traffic and limited parking options. We strongly encourage families to leave a few minutes early to allow time for the kiss-and-drop line or to find street parking. Please make sure to follow all parking signs and regulations.

Reminder: After-school playground reminder

As a reminder, if your child is staying around the school after bell hours (and is not participating in the YMCA, Enrichments or tutoring), they need to be accompanied by an adult. This includes our older students who walk home by themselves. Unaccompanied students will be brought to the office, and parents will be notified and asked to pick them up promptly.

Thanks to all of our community visitors (Darla, Maggie, and Juniper)!!
