Greetings Park Hill Families:
We are excited to have all of our staff and students back and get everyone off to a strong start in 2024. All of our staff are re-energized and ready to jump right back into studies. I personally am looking forward to all of the fun this Spring brings with performances, field trips and school projects and more!
Please keep an eye out for upcoming 2024-25 Enrollment information, volunteering opportunities, and events!
As always, we appreciate your collaboration and support!

PHE wins a Climate Champions grant
A group of students in Mr Ferguson’s 5th grade classroom submitted a grant application through the district for additional bike racks, locks, and storage areas. We are excited to share that they received the full funding for the grant with proceeds totaling $11,049. The students did an amazing job of putting together a complex application in a short period of time. We are excited to see the results of their hard work!
Enrollment: SchoolChoice opens next Thursday
The SchoolChoice window will open January 11 at 10am. Families can rank their preferred schools for their children to attend during this time. This is required for 5th grade students continuing on to middle school, incoming kindergarten and ECE-4 students or those looking to transfer to another DPS school. The Choice window is open from January 11-February 12. Elections can be made at any point during that window.
A reminder that Pre-enrollment is now open for the 2024-25 school year. The pre-enrollment packet can be found on the front page of the website. This is requested only for new students to DPS (including ECE-4 and Kinder) or those transferring back into DPS from another school. We do not need actively enrolled DPS students to complete this information. Please send completed packets to ann_kurth@dpsk12.net
Equity Corner
Marade on January 16
Pre-K, Kinder and 1st grade students are busy preparing for the annual Martin Luther King parade (Marade) on January 16. The parade will start at Turtle (WH Ferguson) Park at 9:45am and from there make their way to Montview Church where Dr King spoke 60 years ago. Students will meet up with other students from Park Hill schools during the event. Parents are invited to participate!
Please join us for our next Black Excellence Committee on January 8 at 4pm. Please check in at the office or join us online at: meet.google.com/enz-xgjo-zxn
After School Enrichment signup is Wednesday, January 10 at 10am
As a reminder, the Enrichment signup will be next Wednesday morning. We will send out an updated Enrichment list with links to each vendor to signup and register for their course. This is an optional opportunity. Families interested in a scholarship are encouraged to reach out to Principal Burdette as we have a limited number of scholarships available. Students in ECE, Kinder, and 1st grades will be escorted to their enrichment by a staff member. Please double check all times and dates for Enrichments as they are all slightly different.
